About 1,000 children aged 7–9 years took part in the survey. It turned out that birth before 32 weeks gives 39.4% of the occurrence of mathematical violations, and by 39-41 - 14.9%. In the analysis, in addition to the date of birth, the weight of premature babies was also taken into account.
It turned out that in children with reduced body weight, the possibility of problems with mathematics increased. Apparently, before the very birth, some changes occurred in the brain of a child, affecting the appearance of a similar effect. Is it possible to somehow eliminate this problem and help such children, while scientists are not able to answer.
