Independence Day celebrated in Norway
After Denmark lost the war of England in 1814, she had to sacrifice her province - Norway, which was transferred to Sweden. The act of transfer was documented by the Swedish-Norwegian Union. As a matter of fact, nobody specifically asked for consent from Norway. Although officially she was subordinate to the Swedish king, in order to use the Norwegian military outside her native country, to manage the state treasury or to solve issues with citizenship, it was necessary to enlist the support of the Norwegian Storting (Parliament). The Storting gradually became the center of the struggle of the Norwegians against the enslaving union, and on June 7, 1905. adopted a resolution proposing to terminate this very union. Norway and Sweden were a step away from the war, but subsequent negotiations led the parties to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, and the termination of the union between Norway and Sweden was recognized and formalized.

June 7, 1654 The coronation of the French king Louis XIV
